CD DRIVE / DVD DRIVE not reading the disc content

You are able to insert the DVD/ CD disc, but all you see is an empty drive from the MY Computer. Follow these simple steps to resolve the issue: 1. Clean the CD/DVD drive using a lens cleaner. 2. Try a different disc. 3. Go to the device manager and uninstall the CD?DVD drive. 4. Restart and check if you can play any CD/DVD disc. 5. If plays, then ok, else shutdown the system and check the cables and reseat them after opening the chassis. 6. Restart again. If it's still not working replace drive.

Computer Sound Troubleshooting

When you use your personal computer as a Hi Fi system and suddenly the sound is gone altogether...what's there you can do. The trouble is more acute when it's the dead of the night and the warranty of your PC has expired!  Here are some easy and simple steps you can perform which may positively restore your PC:   1. Check the line-out port ( usually a green jack ) on the back panel of the PC.   2. Update the sound driver from the Device Manager.   3. Uninstall the Sound Driver and reinstall without restarting the PC.   4. Type services.msc in the 'run' from the start menu to check the status.   5. Restart the PC and go to the BIOS to check onboard audio.   6. If the above steps have landed you nowhere, do a system recovery.
