When you use your personal computer as a Hi Fi system and suddenly the sound is gone altogether...what's there you can do. The trouble is more acute when it's the dead of the night and the warranty of your PC has expired!
Here are some easy and simple steps you can perform which may positively restore your PC:
1. Check the line-out port ( usually a green jack ) on the back panel of the PC.
2. Update the sound driver from the Device Manager.
3. Uninstall the Sound Driver and reinstall without restarting the PC.
4. Type services.msc in the 'run' from the start menu to check the status.
5. Restart the PC and go to the BIOS to check onboard audio.
6. If the above steps have landed you nowhere, do a system recovery.
